Espalion – 15 Sep 2024- Rest Day!

Stayed a full day here in Espalion to rest and recover from seven full days on Chemín. Espalion is one of the beaux villages of southwestern France. It is full of old charm. It is also known as one of the ancient way-stations of the Camino de Santiago.

Attended Mass in French this morning, wandered about the ancien ville and had lunch at a sidewalk brasserie; lamb with a glass of red wine.

Now it’s time to pack up and get ready for another full day on the Chemín; next stop, Golinhac. Bon Chemín.

Le Pont Vieux, built by King St Louis IX. Was used by early pilgrims to cross the River Lot on their way to Santiago.
