Camino de Santiago, Day 68 Camino Francés, the Way to Santiago de Compostela

Today was a day of rest and exploration of the old city of Santiago. Paid a visit to Ivar Revke of Casa Ivar Bookstore and webmaster of the Camino Forum, went to Confession and attended the noon Pilgrim Mass at the Cathedral and had lunch with Thomas Neenan, of Ireland, of my Camino-mates and wandered through the Cathedral Museum. Tomorrow it’s off to Negreira and starting the third and final leg, the Camino de Finisterre. Buen Camino

Santiago de Compostela is a city steeped in history and culture, with its narrow streets and medieval charm.
One of the highlights is Pulpería O Piorno a traditional Galician restaurant known for it’s Pulpo a la Gallega (Galician-style octopus). It’s a traditional dish from Galicia, which is very popular in Santiago de Compostela served on a wooden plate.
