Welcome to my site. Dusty Peregrino will document my preparations and actual walking of the Camino de Santiago in the Autumn of 2024, starting with the Via Podiensis/Chemin du Puy and onward on the Camino Frances all the way to Santiago de Compostela, Finisterre and Muxia, a trek of 1,000 miles or 1600 kilometers across the southwest of France and the north of Spain.

I am a retired Naval Aviator, having just shelved my third and final career with the resolve of “getting out there” and starting a new chapter. I lost my dear wife, Cathy four years ago after an extended illness in which I was her caregiver. This Camino will be one way for me to process the lingering grief I deal with on an almost daily basis. And so this Camino will be about finding some joy, meeting new people, spending some time alone with God and discerning what He wants me to do next.
