Chemín de Puy – Stage 2, St. Privat dAllier to Saugues

This trail was murder. About three miles before reaching Saugues.

12 1/2 miles doesn’t sound that much but 12 1/2 miles carrying a backpack traversing rugged to rain up and down mountains makes it even more. Today was such a day I am bone tired. Nonetheless the scenery was beautiful. The weather was great and had some good company along the way, sharing with you now a couple of short videos and some pictures. Bon Chemín.

Wish you were here.
Just to give an idea of the ground covered, I climbed up to the ruins of the castle, seen at the highest peak in the background.
Chappelle de Sainte Madeleine, built into the rock.

Hi Mike! I’m Tom Salzmann’s sister and my husband and I walked this route exactly this time last year. The views, as you are discovering, are breathtaking. Today was probably your hardest day. Hopefully the temperatures are cooler than they were last year, we had 90° all the way to Conques where we ended our pilgrimage.
