“It’s been said that it’s not so much the destination of the Camino de Santiago, as it is the journey itself, and I’m all the richer for that.”
Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, the grandeur and beauty of its architecture. The intricate details and the serene atmosphere – The Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela was built because it’s believed to be the burial place of Saint James the Apostle, whose tomb was discovered in the 9th century. Construction began in 1075 and the cathedral was consecrated in 1211 to honor him.
